The Queensland Government has launched the first ever whole-of-government seniors strategy which includes an important announcement for grandparents.
The Stratgey is called POSITIVELY AGELESS and the government has made a commitment to acknowledge the positive contribution grandparents make to our communities through establishing a Grandparents Day for Queensland.
Premier Anna Bligh has called on the Queensland community to nominate dates when this special day could be celebrated annually.
All dates are on the table and I would encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to help write a page in the history of Queensland.
I invite members of the community to call my electorate office on 3344 2659 to suggest a date to honour grandparents.
